Genesis

PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Vikaspuri made a modest beginning from a humble initiative in 1986 in tents up to class V in 4.5 acres of land. Kendriya Vidyalaya Vikaspuri is a civil sector school situated in Village Hastsal in West Delhi District in state of Delhi.
In the beginning, it was operational as a single shift school.

Since then, the school has grown into a beautiful 4- storeyed building with lush green sprawling grassy grounds, Eco gardens, kitchen garden, mathematical garden and bio-park. It caters to the needs of 1854 students in I shift running in 4 sections upto class XII with 2 sections for Science, 1 sections for Commerce & 1 section for Humanities streams.

Second shift has also been operational since 2004. Now it has three sections up to class XI and XII running 1 section for science stream , 1 section for commerce stream and 1 section for arts with a total strength of 1300 students.
